Material point method (MPM) hydro-mechanical modelling of flows impacting rigid walls

چکیده

The study on impact mechanisms of flow-like landslides against structures is still an open issue in the scientific literature. Many researchers have so far employed either experiments or numerical methods, but evaluation forces mitigation obstacles remains difficult especially if solid–fluid interaction within flow considered. This shows how advanced tools, such as material point method, may be used simulating those complex processes. simulations are carried out for two well-documented laboratory tests: a dry granular impacting rigid wall under different geometries and testing conditions small-scaled flume saturated with propagation pattern centrifuge apparatus. modelling validated observations then to explore response flows other than experiments. soil–fluid influences type mechanism, kinematics flow, space–time trend pressure structure.
